Procedures
Thank you for showing an interest in St. Mary’s Catholic High School. Students applying for a place at St. Mary’s are required to pass an entry test in English and mathematics. The examination is competitive as the number of students applying far exceeds the number of places available.
Other factors are also taken into consideration, which allow us to ensure a good balance and maintain the international and multi faith dimensions of the student body.

Applications for Grade 1
Application forms can be collected from the school between the 9th and 16th of February during office hours (Sunday – Thursday 8a.m. – 2.30p.m. and Saturday 8.30 – 12noon). The form should be returned to the school no later than February 18th together with the following documentation:
4 passport photographs
1 photocopy of the passport containing the valid visa of the child
the child’s birth certificate
the health card
the last report card
the baptism certificate (Catholic Students only)
Those parents whose child has been selected for an entry test will receive a call by March 31st giving them details of when to come for the entry test.

Applications for Grades 2 – 10
Application forms can be collected from the school between the 9th and 16th of February during office hours (Sunday – Thursday 8a.m. – 2.30p.m. and Saturday 8.30 – 12noon). The form should be returned to the school no later than February 18th together with the following documentation:
4 passport photographs
1 photocopy of
the passport containing the valid visa of the child
the health card
the last report card
the baptism certificate (Catholic Students only)
Those parents whose children have been selected for entry test will receive a call by April 30th. Entry tests will be held in May. On the basis of the results, students may be offered a place provisionally or put on the waiting list. Acceptance will only be confirmed after the announcement of our own final examination results in June.
We do not accept students into Grade 11, the Board Examination Year.

Application for A’ Level
Application forms can be collected from the school between the 15th and 20th of April during office hours (Sunday – Thursday 8a.m. – 2.30p.m. and Saturday 8.30 – 12noon). The form should be returned to the school no later than April 27th together with the following documentation:
4 passport photographs
1 photocopy of
the passport containing the valid visa of the child
the health card / school medical report (not required from St. Mary’s students)
the last report card (not required from St. Mary’s Students)
Before applying, students should be aware of the entry requirements. Students applying for first year A’ Level should obtain A* or A or B grades in at least six subjects, including English and Matematics and A* or A in the subjects they wish to study at A’ Level.
Students applying for second year A’ Level should have scored and A B or C grade in the two subjects they sat in the first year.
Students will be allowed to take only 2 subjects. We do not offer AS level.
