COMPUTER SCIENCE   (Year 9 – Year 11)

Computer science is a dynamic and rapidly growing area that has become an integral part of the world that we live in today. Computer science is the study of computation and information. It deals with theory of computation, algorithms, computational problems and the design of computer systems hardware, software and applications. One of the best aspects of computer science is that it addresses both human-made and natural information processes, such as communication, control, perception, learning and intelligence.

As computer science impacts many aspects of everyday life, it helps students to stay up to date with the developments of technology. A study in computer science offers great chance for true creativity and has space for both collaborative and individual work. Future opportunities in the field of computer science, from communications and financial companies, to software, health care, and governmental agencies, are without boundaries.

At St Mary’s, computer science is a new yet interesting subject. The department is equipped with sufficient computer labs, useful resources and well educated teachers to support the students throughout their journey.
