Colorful Life
Bubbly, enthusiastic, cheerful and countless other adjectives are not enough to
express the boundless cheer of the Junior 1 and 2 students of the St. Mary’s
Catholic High School. Their ‘Coloring Competition’ on the 19th of November,
2009, done to celebrate International Children’s Week, was full of life and
happiness that would truly paint a smile on any frowning face.
Walking into their candy-colored classrooms immerses one into the wonderland
world every 6 year-old dreams of, and through their quaint masterpieces, the
essence of childhood bliss truly comes alive. Ynez, of Junior 1A delightedly
offered a glance at her ‘Little House’, while Junior 2F’s Frances, shares, “I like painting and I like to dance”.
these endearing young ones’ interest in COLOR reminds us that it does add hue to life.

What Christmas Means
|
|
| |
In the months that are troublesome
There comes a day in the year
Where all of it goes away
And that is
Christmas time
During Christmas
We feast like there is no tomorrow
We are busy sending well wishes to family and friends across the globe
We give and receive gifts in all shapes and sizes
And we never fail to remember
The greatest gift sent from above……….

On the 15th of December, students from the Junior school took a break from academic
work to meet for the 2009 SMCHS-Dubai Annual Sports event. Parents and friends were
invited to witness a day of nothing but fun and excitement. The event kicked off with
an assembly by class in the quadrangle followed by a march towards the football pitch,
the venue for the sports meet; this was then officially opened by SMCHS-Dubai Headmistress,
Sr. Anne-Marie Quigg.
Junior 1 to 4 students took part in events like the flat race, novelty race,
fun relay, and the tug of war for Junior 4’s. As each event transpired, classmates
and class teachers alike cheered on, hopeful that competitors from their class would
grab a spot on the coveted winners platform. |
