Arabic is studied as a compulsory subject from Grade 1 – Grade 10 according to the syllabus of the Ministry of Education and, in addition, French will be offered from Junior 5.
According to the pupil’s religion, he/she will study Qur’an or Bible. GCSE Examinations are available in these subjects.
Changes have been made to the mandatory curriculum requirements with respect to the teaching of Islamic Studies, Arabic, Moral Education and Social Studies. There will now be an additional lesson per week for Arabic A students in Years 5 and 6. An additional lesson per week in Islamic Education for non-Arab Muslims in years 2 to 4. All Arabic A students will be taught Social Studies and Moral Education in Arabic.
